Each University has their own selection procedures, but we encourage students to apply early in the year to avoid disappointment.

Queen Mary Univeristy of London, School of Physics and Astronomy, Year 10-11 Work Experience

How to apply: Applications open in March and close in early-to-mid April.
This programme gives budding Year 10 and 11 physicists a first-hand experience of carrying out research in our department, during a week-long placement. You will chose from a number of key research questions, working with current undergraduates to develop your own novel research project. By the end of the week, you should be able to demonstrate practical research skills including data analysis, report writing and presenting results. The week will include interactive demonstrations and talks from our academics and research students, ensuring that you will gain an authentic insight into the world of university physics research. Please note we are unable to guarantee everyone a placement.
